The melliferous evergreen shrub, 10 to 35 cm tall, forms cushions that are long-lived and can reach a diameter of up to 1.5 m. The leaves are linear, entire, leathery, dark green. The flowers of most varieties are white, sometimes pink, and are gathered in inflorescences. At the beginning of flowering, the inflorescences are flat, 2 to 3 cm in diameter, and as the flowers bloom, they lengthen in a raceme. The plant blooms from April to May, some varieties until June. The melliferous plant is recommended to be planted in permeable, moderately moist soil in sunny places.
